April 2018: Kayla Hudson, Jessica Koyles, Ellyson Williams and Katlyn Fry presented their research at the College of Allied Health research Day. Ellyson and Katlyn won the People’s choice award for the best poster. Congratulations guys!

April 2018: The lab along with Ms. Sherri Winslow, celebrated the World Voice day by preparing a table for display with information regarding phonotrauma and voice conservation. A performance by the Carolina Chord Connection Men’s Barbershop Chorus completed the event.

November 2017: Lab students will be presenting a talk on vocal conservation to students in the School of Theater.

September 2017: The lab welcomes new members Lindsey Bates and Jessica Koyles, undergraduate seniors.

August 2017: The lab welcomes new member Ellyson Williams, a first year MS student.

November 2016: The lab welcomes Matt Anderson who will be completing a Masters thesis on perceptual voice analyses.

October 2016: Check out our poster titled “Relationship between swallowing physiology measures and dysphagia severity” at the European Society of Swallowing Disorders Congress, Milan (October 12-15).

September 2016: The lab welcomes new members Kayla Hudson and Ellie Garner, undergraduate juniors.

August 2016: Our ASHA submission “Effects of Airflow Exercises on Voice Handicap & Acoustic Measures: Preliminary Findings From Ongoing Clinical Trial” has been designated as a meritorious poster submission. 

July 2016: Six of our submissions to the ASHA Convention have been accepted for presentations. Philly, here we come.

January 2016: The lab welcomes Haley Gilroy who will be a research assistant in the lab.

November 2015: Check out our poster at the ASHA Convention! Carley Prenshaw will be presenting her poster on Saturday, Nov 14 in Hall 2F, Colorado Convention Center from 12:30 to 2:00 PM.

September 2015: Lab member Carley Prenshaw will be presenting her research at the NCSLHA Fall Convention at Wilmington, NC.

September 2015: The lab welcomes Holly Gosnell who will be completing a Masters thesis on a treatment method for voice disorders in children.

August 2015: The lab welcomes new members Kate DelGreco, a first year MS student, Mikeala Elliott, an undergraduate senior and Andi Morrow, an undergraduate junior.

July 2015: Carley Prenshaw awarded research grant. A grant proposal submitted to the Vidant Cancer research grant program has been funded. Carley will use the grant amount for completing her thesis.

June 2015: The lab welcomes Kristen Golding, an undergraduate senior.

April 2015: Lab members win CSDI scholarships! Carley Prenshaw won the Robert and Mary Muzzarelli Scholarship in Communication Sciences and Disorders and Payton Burnette won the James & Carol White Speech Pathology Scholarship. Congratulations, guys!

March 2015: Payton Burnette won the best undergraduate platform presentation award at the RCAW. Congratulations, Payton!

March 2015: Three lab members – Cara Julian, Elizabeth McGee and Payton Burnette will be presenting at the Research and Creative Awards Week at ECU.

January 2015: Payton Burnette’s submission to the Voice Foundation has been accepted for a platform presentation.

November 2014: Rangarathnam awarded a research grant: A grant proposal submitted to the CAPCSD Educational Outcomes grant program has been funded. The research will be co-investigated by Dr. Kathy Cox, Dr. Heather Wright and Dr. Jamie Perry.

August 2014: The lab welcomes Carley Prenshaw who will be doing a research for her Masters’ thesis in the lab.

August 2014: The lab welcomes new members Matt Fornes, a first year MS student and Leigh Ann Pfieffer, an undergraduate senior.
